Where can I find the full program and technical requirements?

The WA Government maintains the official program documents for the WA Residential Battery Scheme. These documents set out eligibility criteria, approved product lists, technical standards and rebate rules. You can download the Scheme requirements document from the Energy Policy WA website. Key points include:

  • Rebate and loan amounts – On a 10 kWh battery or larger, the WA Government offers rebates of $1 300 for Synergy customers and $3 800 for Horizon Power customers. In addition, households with a combined annual income below $210 000 may access a no‑interest loan of up to $10 000, repayable over up to ten years.

  • VPP participation – To receive a rebate or loan, the battery must be connected to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP)

  • Approved products – Only batteries and inverters on the Synergy Supported Solutions List or Horizon Power Compatible Inverters List are eligible depending on the grid the BESS is being installed in. The Supported Solution List gets updated from time to time with additional inverters models and series’.
